Head-Quarters of the 1rst Confederate Brigade

Camp at Joliet, IL, [20] [June], 1863

General Orders,

No.4

Gentlemen,

Based on feedback from various commands at the Naperville event the Colonel Commanding has ordered the Sgt. Major to address changes to the Brigades typical event schedule to address various requests.

To allow more time for each unit to cook and have time in camp before drill/battle the schedule has been revised to accommodate this. There will not be a formal 1st Sergeants meeting to collect the morning reports. Each unit is requested to turn in their report to the Sergeant. Major before 7:30 am so a head count can be taken to help with planning for the event.

After the Brigade is formed for morning drill the artillery units will be dismissed and the Cavalry [mounted and dismounted] will be dismissed so they can drill separately. The infantry will drill as a combined unit. Each company may drill in addition to this drill if they choose.

At the Event Officers call the Brigade Colonel/staff and branch commanders will attend. Other Brigade individual unit officers may attend at their own discretion.

A copy of a 1st Brigade schedule is outlined below.

The colonel wishes to request Branch or Unit Commanders to bring other issues to his attention as they come up at any time. The Brigade staff is here to serve the various unit members and this feedback is essential for the success of the Brigade.
